MY YOGA
AND ME
Yoga helps to develop flexibility, strength, coordination and balance,
and brings a general sense of calm and well-being. Yoga is holistic
in that it connects thought, breath and physical postures to keep our
awareness in the present moment and help us reconnect with our spirit.
I have been teaching yoga since 2004, gaining a Yoga Alliance recognised qualification through the Cambridge School of Yoga (now called Teach Yoga) in London. I have also undertaken teacher training workshops in Vinyasa Flow yoga with Claire Missingham and Shiva Rea. Over the past eight years I have attended classes and workshops with almost 200 yoga teachers and experienced many different styles of Hatha yoga – Astanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Viniyoga, Sivananda, Bikram, Yin and Yang, Anusara, Jivamukti, Scaravelli etc. These have all influenced my style of teaching, which can be described as Hatha Flow yoga, or Vinyasa Flow.
HATHA FLOW YOGA
VINYASA FLOW
This is a dynamic style of yoga in which traditional poses are linked to each other and the breath to create flowing sequences. Hatha Flow is popular with westerners attracted to the creative, fluid and physically challenging nature of the practice. I aim to make my classes varied, safe, calm and enjoyable. I use softly-strong, slow flowing sequences, sun salutations and a wide range of postures which can be modified to suit most abilities. I emphasise working with the breath and include Pranayama techniques, along with an element of meditation and relaxation.

Classes run almost every week throughout the year. There is no need to book in advance, so please just turn up if you'd like to give it a try - we'd love to see you.
Please bring a yoga mat, or a large towel, and any yoga props you wish to use. Don't worry if you don't have a mat - just drop me an email before the class and I will bring one along for you to borrow.
